Transportation
Milan has two primary airports: Malpensa (MXP) and Linante (LIN).
If you are coming from another destination within Europe, I would look to fly into LIN, as it is much closer to the city - around a 15 minute cab ride to the city center.
If flying into MXP, it will take around 1 hour on the Malpensa Express to either Cadorna or Centrale stations. It costs around 13 euros. However, you may still need to take a cab/Uber to complete your journey to your hotel. Ubers are available from MXP, but take approximately the same amount of time to reach the city.
Or you can take a scooter...
Lodging
Here is the general area of where I would recommend staying. This area will be safe, clean, and within walking distance of most activities.
Feel free to text me if you have questions about a specific hotel and the area. Happy to help guide you.
Hotels in Milan can be pricey, and this weekend in particular there seems to be a spike in price. I recommend booking early to secure a space, so that prices do not increase further. (I would also look at Airbnbs as a budget friendly option. See more below.)

Airbnbs always have their risk, but can pay off with cheaper pricing and unique spaces. I have stayed multiple times at Airbnbs in Milan and they have been nice. Below are some options that are available as of early January, including some great budget options.
